To celebrate Law Day, children throughout the County participated in coloring and essay contests sponsored by the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit. The Judges of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit honored the winners in a virtual ceremony.
This was the second Drug Court graduation for the 19th Judicial Circuit since the pandemic began. Lake County Specialty Court programs were amongst the first in the state to transition to court via the Zoom virtual platform.
For the past 16 years, the hallways and courtrooms of the Lake County Courthouse came alive on the Annual Mock Trial Invitational day, however due to COVID mitigation measures, Saturday morning looked very different.
Chief Judge Diane E. Winter greeted attendees, both in-person and virtually, as the families of the graduates and the Therapeutic Intensive Monitoring Court team gathered to celebrate three graduates for their successful monitoring and clean-time.
