Robert S. Smith, Jr.
May 20, 1944 – November 10, 2008
Robert S. Smith, Jr. practiced law in Lake County for 35 years. He began his legal career in the Lake County State's Attorney's office. For several years he practiced law as a sole practitioner, specializing in probate and estate planning.
On July 30, 2007, Robert S. Smith, Jr. was appointed Associate Judge for the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit. He was a member and a past president of the Lake County Bar Association. He served as a deacon at Holy Cross Church in Deerfield and Faith, Hope, and Charity Church in Winnetka.
Judge Smith received his Juris Doctor from Loyola University School of Law in 1971.
